11 Custom WordPress Blocks for a Junk Removal Company
How I built a professional website for Entrümpel King using a WordPress Block Theme with 11 custom Gutenberg blocks. GDPR-compliant, performant and self-manageable.

The Project
Entrümpel King is a junk removal company. The requirement: a professional website that the client can maintain themselves. No monthly agency costs for text changes.
The result: entruempel-king.de, a fully custom WordPress Block Theme with 11 custom Gutenberg blocks.
Why a Custom Block Theme?
Off-the-shelf themes have a problem: they're built for everyone, which means they're built for no one. And page builders like Elementor? They make websites slow and the code unmanageable.
My approach: A theme that does exactly what the client needs. Nothing more, nothing less.
- Fluid typography instead of fixed font sizes
- Local fonts instead of Google Fonts (GDPR!)
- Static maps instead of Google Maps (no cookies, no tracking issues)
The 11 Custom Blocks
Each block was built for a specific purpose:
- Hero Block with dynamic background
- Services Grid with icons
- Location Block with static map
- Testimonial Slider for customer reviews
- FAQ Accordion for frequently asked questions (great for SEO)
- CTA Banner with WhatsApp integration
- Price Calculator, an interactive cost calculator
- Before/After for before/after comparisons
- Team Grid for team presentation
- Blog Posts for latest articles
- Contact Form, GDPR-compliant contact form
SEO Strategy: 24 Blog Posts
On top of the website, I implemented a content strategy: 24 blog posts for organic SEO growth over 10 months. Each article targets local search terms like "junk removal Heilbronn" or "house clearance Stuttgart".
What the Client Gets
- Full control: All texts and images self-editable
- No recurring costs: No Elementor subscription, no agency fees for text changes
- GDPR-compliant: No external fonts, no Google Maps, no unnecessary tracking
- Fast: Core Web Vitals in the green zone
My Takeaway
WordPress isn't outdated, it's just often used wrong. With a custom Block Theme and clean code, the client gets a website that's performant, self-manageable, and doesn't have hidden costs.
